I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M PAST 30 WEEKS!  UNREAL!

August 6, 2012

How far along? 31.5 weeks

Total weight gain:  14 lbs so says the Dr.
Maternity clothes?  I wear them every day, some are getting a little snug now.
Stretch marks? Getting a few little ones right around my belly button – not awful – but I see them. Still using oil and lotion.  It stinks but is totally worth it!
Sleep:  Not sleeping well.  I also get tired much easier these days.
Best moment this week: finally started selling my school supplies...lets get this house clean and organized! Also finally got in a pool for the 1st time this summer.  loved it!
Miss Anything?   Miss sleeping deeply and on my tummy!
Movement:
Lots and lots, it looks so funny to watch my tummy move – it looks like there’s an alien in there.  NOPE! It’s just my baby!
Food cravings:  I really wanted orange Julius this week.  Didn’t get it but man it sounded good.  Instead J took me to sonic for  a strawberry cream slush.  It did the trick!
Anything making you queasy or sick:  It seems that after I eat anything now I get a little queasy.  It’s not awful but its annoying. – yep pretty much get a little queasy after I eat anything.
Gender:  Let’s hear it for the BOY!
Labor Signs: more Braxton hicks – some are a bit uncomfortable.

Symptoms:  Restless legs at night, some Braxton hicks, heart burn, and out of breath much easier now
Belly Button in or out?     In, I can finally feel the bottom though J
Wedding rings on or off?  On
Happy or Moody most of the time:  Very happy and excited!  I may occasionally cry at something I never would’ve cried at before but hey it’s all part of the experience!
Looking forward to: The ULTRASOUND this week!  CAN NOT WAIT!  And celebrating J’s BIRTHDAY!  (How can I not mention how excited I am about the baby shower too!  2 weeks!!  I always get a little nervous though that no one will show up! L)
To do list:
·         pick a pediatrician
·         talk to my doctor about my labor and delivery (what if my amazing Dr. isn’t there to deliver my baby?  Will the on call Dr. fully understand my body/situation and help me to have this baby naturally or without a C Section as long as it is safe?  I trust my dr. completely but there is a chance that he may not be able to be there when I deliver – so I want to know what I’m getting into and what support I’ll have)
·         Decorate the nursery
·         Tour the hospital
·         Take a breastfeeding class (I signed up for it tonight! YAY, I’m excited!)
·         Write my birthing plan
·         Keep practicing breathing exercises
·         Go on a baby moon (a vacation before baby comes)

30.5 weeks

July 31, 2012

How far along? 30 weeks and 6 days (I couldn’t blog earlier because I was in Colorado this last week) The countdown BEGINS!

Total weight gain:  14 lbs so says the Dr.
Maternity clothes?
Yep and lovin um!
Stretch marks? Still doing ok here, fingers crossed.
Sleep:  Is pretty pathetic most nights I can hardly sleep, if I get 2 straight hours I am grateful.  I just wake up with awful back pain.  However after many crummy nights with little sleep (I was in Colorado for my sweet nephews baptism and just wasn’t getting much sleep) last night I finally got some great sleep, I think because I was exhausted.  I was at my parents after driving for over 11 hours home and I slept from about 2:30 am to 10am…HEAVEN!!!  But man did I have to pee when I woke up!  YIKES!!  If it wasn’t for that I bet I would’ve slept even more.  Rarely I get one of those great nights and last night was one of them!  BLISS!
Best moment this week:  Hard to pick, non-pregnancy related would definitely be my nephew Michael’s baptism.  Pregnancy related it was having my mom feel the baby’s movement.  It was also so fun to have my little niece Maggie and nephews Michael and Briggs ask me about the baby.  Some days Maggie would come up to me and say, “Do you still have a baby in your tummy?” “Is it still a boy baby?”  haha – it was fun!
Miss Anything?   I miss sleeping and no back pain
Movement:
Oh so much moving and grooving, I LOVE IT!  I love sharing it with J and my family.  It is such a miracle.  I think baby D missed his Daddy very much because tonight was our first night back together and he didn’t hold back, he was moving up a storm!  Daddy thinks since we were watching the Olympics’ swimming that our little dude was also tying to show off his mad swimming skills.
J
Food cravings:  Nothing really
Anything making you queasy or sick:  It seems that after I eat anything now I get a little queasy.  It’s not awful but its annoying.
Gender:  Boy OH boy!
Labor Signs: Nope

Symptoms:  Restless legs at night, some Braxton hicks, heart burn
Belly Button in or out?     In
Wedding rings on or off?  On
Happy or Moody most of the time:  HAPPY!!  Just nervous about getting everything done.  I WANT a CLEAN and ORANIZED house already!
Not looking forward to: bedtime. It can be a little rough sometimes.
Really excited for: My baby shower.  My amazing BF's Angie and Sammy are throwing me a shower and I know it is going to be amazing.  I'm so so excited!
Also really looking forward to my ultrasound next week.
To do list:
·         FIRST AND FOREMOST JUST CLEAN THIS HOUSE! and get rid of my teaching materials I'm not keeping!

Misc.: AHHHH!  ONLY 10 weeks left...and that is if this little guy decides to come at 40 weeks!  I just can't believe it!
I had a doctor’s appointment a week ago and it went great!  They said my weight is right on track and my BP and blood count and everything looks fantastic.  HOW GREAT IS THAT!? I asked if we needed to watch my cervixes (Dr. Wilson had mentioned it at the beginning of the pregnancy) and she said she would order an ultrasound.  So next week we get to see sweet Baby D on ultrasound. I CANT WAIT!!!

Nat also went to CO for her oldest nephews baptism. It was wonderful!  I enjoyed spending time with Tiff and her sweet kids. I had a great time! I got to spend lots of time loving on Little Lucy and playing with Mags, Brigs, and Michael.   I sure missed J though and am glad to be back with him!  Sadly I am not to excited about being back home and having to face all of my messes and the awful summer heat J
I just adore this little man! So glad I got to make it for this special even!
Pop and Lil Lucy.  How cute are they?
Michael's amazing cake that Tiff got for him.  The Armor of God...It's amazing right?!

29.5 weeks

July 22, 2012

How far along? 29.5
Whoa mama, that baby bump came outta nowhere!

Total weight gain:  about 10-13lbs
Maternity clothes?
Every day. Love them!  All I wear are my jean shorts and capris that are maternity from Ross.  They are so comfy!  I also love some of my dresses I borrowed from my friend and one I bought.  I think they are comfy and so cute!
Stretch marks?  So far so good
Sleep:  It STINKS.  This week has been the worst I think.  One night I was up all night and finally I was so exhausted at 5 am I took a Tylenol PM.  I hate poppin pills but I just had to and it was awesome to get a few hours after that!  I wouldn’t trade it though! If that’s all I have to complain about I think I’m golden!
Best moment this week: Had a great 1 year old birthday party for our sweet Elsie girl!  It was great to share the party with J and my best friends!  It was fun to reminisce about Angie’s delivery and think about how mine will be.  I also LOVE sharing every night with J and having him hold my belly and feel the baby move.  Today he put his head on my tummy and talked to the baby and waited until Baby D kicked him in the face J  J says he’s gonna be a soccer player!  It’s definitely my favorite sharing this special time with my husband.  LOVE IT!
Miss Anything?   I miss sleeping soundly and no back pain, but I wouldn’t trade it either.
Movement:
Big rolling movement that feels so cool!  It is often up high right over my ribs it seems.  I wonder if it is the head or bum or what!?
Food cravings: Nothing crazy or anything that I HAD to have.
Anything making you queasy or sick:  Not really, just occasionally and totally randomly I just get slightly nauseous for no reason at all.
Gender:  Boy OH boy!
Labor Signs: Nope

Symptoms:  Restless legs at night, some Braxton hicks, heart burn
Belly Button in or out?     Very In  - I should just delete this question because I don’t think the answer will ever change ;)
Wedding rings on or off?  On, thank goodness!  I’m grateful everyday!
Happy or Moody most of the time:  HAPPY!  Although I have to admit that I did have an emotional breakdown this week.  Oh lovely hormones.  This is the first week I’ve been home since leaving my job and that means it is finally time to start going through all of my teaching materials.  Needless to say our entire front room is COVERED with stuff and it is total chaos!  I’ve worked on it for hours each day, but it is an emotional process as well as physical because it took so much work to accumulate all of my materials.

Well, one night I had just had it and I cried and cried to Justin saying we will never be ready for this baby (really menaing our house will never be clean and organized) and I still need to find a pediatrician and research a few things and get the nursery ready and the list goes on and on.  Then somehow while Justin was holding me it all shifted from having a messy house to, what if I can’t push this baby out and what if I’m not a good mom, OH DEAR!  Darn hormones!  I feel great now – but that night was RIDICULOUS!  Haha!  I am already laughing about it, thank goodness.  However I do still wonder if I will ever get through my teaching stuff and if our house will be clean by the time the baby comes, but no matter when this baby arrives, he will have 2 VERY excited and LOVING parents, what else do we need?
Not looking forward to: finishing going through my teaching materials and getting rid of A LOT OF IT! Boo hoo!
To do list:
  • ·         pick a pediatrician
  • ·         talk to my doctor about my labor and delivery (what if my amazing Dr. isn’t there to deliver my baby?  Will the on call Dr. fully understand my body/situation and help me to have this baby naturally or without a C Section as long as it is safe?  I trust my dr. completely but there is a chance that he may not be able to be there when I deliver – so I want to know what I’m getting into and what support I’ll have)

Misc.:  I seem to be getting a lot of comments about how I don’t look big enough to be due in September.  I don’t mind these comments, but there was one day this week where I got on the scale and it said I’ve only gained 10 lbs this entire pregnancy and I worried a little.  I know I’m eating but is everything going ok?  Is the baby and I both getting what we need?  I sure hope so!  I’m doing all I can and eating as healthy as I can and taking my vitamins.  I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow so hopefully there won’t be any concerns there.  And my weight does fluctuate a LOT!  By the next day I had already gone up an additional 2.5 lbs.

28.5 weeks

July 15, 2012

How far along? 28.5

Total weight gain:  I think about 15 lbs but it just depends on the time of day I weigh myself.  I also went on vacation and didn’t “restrict what I ate” as much as I maybe should have ;)

Maternity clothes?   They are great, but while on our trip I needed to wear long pants and I didn’t have any.  So I grabbed 2 pairs of my pre pregnancy jeans and did the rubber band trick and they worked PERFECTLY.  It was great! Who knew I could still wear some pre maternity clothes!  It was very nice.  Also just went yesterday and bought some new  underwear.  Yep it was time!  And I may or may not have gotten them a little larger than needed but oh are they comfy!

Stretch marks?  Still doing ok here…but the veins in my tummy are showing up more.  It’s kinda crazy looking.

Sleep:  Oh precious sleep.  I have had one or 2 great nights in the last 2 weeks where I didn’t pee for like 5 hours, it was amazing!  It was painful when I woke up but so worth it!  On vacation our bed was pretty small and hard so sleep was a little more challenging, and I didn’t have my pregnancy body pillows (poor J had to put up with me rolling and moaning all night) but we made it!  My legs have also been really tingly, so there have been a few nights I’ve needed to take Tylenol PM.  I hate taking any meds while pregnant but these were life savers!!    After coming home though, I have a whole new appreciation for my wonderful bed and all of my pillows.  J and I say I am the pillow princess.   I’m so grateful J is putting up with me.  I also ask J to help me sit up a lot as it is getting more and more difficult, I also just like to have him help me cause I think it is super sweet and sexy!  Thanks J!

Best moment this week:  There is a tie here!  1st: Going on vacation with our best friends to San Francisco, Monterey, and Yosemite.  It was phenominal and I will never forget it.  It was SO much fun and I made so many memories!  Our friends Angie and Jeff drove us in their new car and their baby Elsie was perfect, I mean PERFECT!

2nd: My dear friend Carmen from work asked me a month ago for one Saturday in July that I could spend with her.  July was pretty booked but I found one Saturday that I was free.  She told me she wanted to spend the entire day with me, shopping, swimming, she would make me brunch etc.  She has already spoiled me so much too, she has given my 3 new baby outfits (the only new baby clothes I have so far) and she is always SO excited for me!  Well I show up at her home and SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!  Carmen had thrown a surprise baby shower for me.  And not only did 2 or 3 ladies from work came, but TEN!  Lousie, Brittany, Meaghan, Marie, Mariah, Leah, Karen, Danielle, Jenny, and Carmen.  I felt so SO LOVED and spoiled.  I am still in awe that all of these ladies gave up an entire Saturday morning (9:30-12) to celebrate with me.

We played games: nursery rhyme game, measuring my belly – Louise and Marie were closest, don’t say baby (everyone wore a pin and if you said baby someone would take your pin; I of course lost my pin first), and guess the baby picture game – everyone brought their baby picture and we had to guess who was who – I loved it!
Carmen made TONS of food.  There was drinks, 2 kinds of mini sandwiches, chips, dip, strawberries with a glaze, cheese, and a GORGEOUS and adorable cake that tasted delicious that Danielles daughter Marissa made with them.  They all got me amazing gifts and I just felt SO loved!  I don’t know how I got so lucky!  I am so so very grateful and I don’t think those girls will ever know just how much it meant to me!  This baby is sure going to be loved!!

Miss Anything?   It doesn’t really matter to me.  I don’t want to dwell on this question because it doesn’t matter to me.  All that matters is that it is all going to be SO worth it!  Anything I miss will be back to normal soon enough and then I will miss being pregnant and having the baby with me every second.  I love feeling the movement and dreaming about what our son will be like.  Nope don’t miss a thing!

Movement:  Lots of it.  It continues to get stronger and higher.  It is right up by my ribs now and sometimes it is down very low.  He is all over the place!  Love it and can’t get enough!

Food cravings:    Hmmm…while on vacation I wanted  a French dip sandwich, breakfast foods (waffles, French toast, pancakes etc), and I had the BEST bread bowl from Boudin’s on the Pier in San Francisco with clam chowder. DELISH!  But still haven't had one of those moments where I am really CRAVING something...hope I do experience that though!

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Occasionally I just get a random little wave of nausea for no reason at all.  It’s no big deal, just weird.  Also got a little car sick on our drive, but just for a few minutes driving on some windy roads out of Yosemite.  Totally normal!

Gender:  BoY!

Labor Signs: Nope

Symptoms:  back pain (got a little rough on vacation once or twice, but J is UNBELIEVABLE and had rubbed my sore back more in the last month than throughout our entire marriage.  He’s the best!), heartburn, restless tingly legs, lots of trips to the bathroom,

Belly Button in or out?  Very much in

Wedding rings on or off?  On and I can’t believe how much I love it. Looking at it always brings a smile to my face!

Happy or Moody most of the time:  The last 2 weeks I’ve been on cloud 9.  Fouth of July with the best family ever!  Fireworks, Lots of time with loved ones AND the HUBBY!!  And an AMAZING vacation with my hubby taking a FULL week off from work.  Heavenly!  San Francisco was perfect, it was so great to escape the Phx heat and spend time with our best friends the Barneys!  Then a surprise shower, a beautiful home, a brilliant hubby, working cars, and most of all a caring and loving and patient husband and a healthy pregnancy!  What more do I need?

Not looking forward to: All of the cleaning and organizing I MUST do.  I have a love/hate relationship with getting rid of stuff and I have a lot of school stuff I have got to do something with!

Misc.:  I’m just getting so excited to meet this little man.  It is crazy to think that he is right here, inside me, a little human that’s a piece of me and a piece of the man I love more than anything.  I love feeling everything and feel so beyond blessed for the opportunity to experience this.  I love this little boy so much and want to do all I can to keep him healthy and safe!  I want to meet him, see what he will look like and what his personality is like.  What traits of J’s will he have?  I hope he looks just like him!  I hope he has his calm and loving personality … oh it is all just so exciting!
